What is a MyUni Page?

Every UK university is invited to create and manage their own MyUni page on HerUni, allowing granular coverage of each University’s day-to-day student life. The MyUni pages are an exclusive space for Uni students to dialogue and come together over local events and their unique lifestyle on campus.

Whether it is covering the fun events taking place during Fresher’s Week, photographing the best dressed girls on campus, interviewing student to see who the Uni hotties are, or reporting what people wore to the Halloween Ball – this is the place to keep you in the know of everything going on at your University.

On the MyUni page you will be able to feature stories specific to your University as well as relevant to the other four sections on the main site: Style & Beauty, Wellbeing, Lovers & Friends, Arts & Culture and Life & Finances. Any stories that are relevant to any of the previously mentioned sections will be featured on both you Uni page as well as on HerUni’s main site, allowing a greater amount of exposure to these pieces.

Readers from each University will have an individualised experience on HerUni.com, Something that no other UK website currently provides. Each MyUni brand will be run by a MyUni Editor and their team.

What is a MyUni Editor and what are the responsibilities of the role?

As a MyUni Editor you will be in charge of running your own online magazine. You need to be driven, bursting with ideas and creativity and have great writing and editing skills. You’ll be responsible for building a staff, producing content and publicising your branch of HerUni. Do you think you have what it takes?

A MyUni Editor will be responsible for:

  • Building a Team: Create your own student editorial staff, which you will manage and oversee. They will be responsible for contributing with editorial and growin the MyUni presence at your University.

  • Managing the Editorial: Produce fresh high-quality editorial content on a bi-weekly basis. Your team should also contribute in providing fresh content for your MyUni page.

  • Publicising HerUni.com: Market your MyUni e-magazine throughout your University to get more readers and contributors.

How do I apply to be a MyUni Editor?

To apply for the MyUni Editor position you must email a PDF or Word document titled “Uni Name – Applicant’s Name” (i.e. “London College of Fashion – Geraldine Haneine”) to geraldine@heruni.com containing the following requirements:

  • The most recent version of your CV.

  • An editor’s letter (250-350 words). It should introduce the page to the readers, describe your University, explain what users will find on your page and most importantly you should mention what your mission for your MyUni page is.

  • A writing sample (500 words maximum) that showcases your journalistic skills as well as your ability to write comprehensively and professionally. This can be journalistic, academic or creative piece of writing.

  • 4 ideas addressing how you will market/publicise Heruni.com at your University.
