Louis Vuitton To Support Tate Modern’s Yayoi Kusama Exhibition

December 8, 2011
By: Elisha Jadav

For anyone interested in fashion and art, the forthcoming ‘Yayoi Kusama’ exhibition at the Tate Modern art gallery is one not to be missed.

Presenting an exciting range of mediums from painting, film, sculpture and installation, the exhibition is also being supported by top fashion brand Louis Vuitton.

Since the 1940s, Yayoi Kusama’s artwork has captivated critics and audiences around the world. In particular it is Kusama’s ability to immerse the viewer through strikingly large-scale installations known as ‘environments’ which have made her one of Japan’s most celebrated contemporary artists.

The exhibition will be spread across a series of rooms, each aiming to immerse the viewer by presenting a different artistic stance. A new installation, ‘Infinity Mirrored Room- Filled with the Brilliance of Life 2011′, Kusama’s largest mirrored room to date, is being created especially for the exhibition.

In conjunction with the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Project, ReCreative and the Yayoi Kusama Exhibition at the Tate Modern, Louis Vuitton will support a programme of activities aimed at young people. Kusama and Louis Vuitton will also work together to collaborate on an installation to be featured in the Louis Vuitton Bond Street Maision exhibition space.

The exhibition opens on the 9 February and will run until 5 June 2012 at the Tate Modern.
