In Her Shoes-Part 2

For some crazy reason, my first post has been in the most popular posts for ages, so I thought I’d do a follow up. This time, I’m going to focus more on Converse (of which I know officially have 12 pairs, unless I forgot to count one again…), and more specifically about making your Converse unique.

The idea came to me when I was ill a month or so ago. I’d been eyeing Converse with Swarovski diamonds for ages (you can order some for your wedding here, that’s so much cooler than sky scraper heels you can’t even walk in) but really being single and nowhere near marriage, I couldn’t justify to order these. Instead, I decided to do it myself. I’d been losing crystal rhinestones from an old nightgown for ages and had to constantly pick them up from the floor. Eventually I started keeping them in a mug and when I had enough (or when I figured out that I could easily make them fall by scratching the shirt-or sleeping in it), I attacked three pairs of my Converse, all low-tops.

I had three different sizes of stones, so choosing the equal number of stones in all sizes for each shoes, I glued them on randomly. Result, my Converse immediately glammed up and became unique. Not wanting to stop, but running out of stones, I went by my nearest pearl shop. They only had very small round ones in different colours, but that would have to do (since I’ve found that Amazon has a lot of rhinestone/gem stuff for nail art, so I’m going to buy those next!). I then attacked two new pairs that I got and this time I created a specific design (albeit a boring one, just putting lines to fill the whole front bit).

Speaking of my new Converse, this is the best thing EVER. On the Converse website, you can design your OWN shoes! Different colours and designs, you can decide on the front, the back, the laces, the lines, the colour of the rubber and the tongue… Everything! And to top it all you can put your name on your shoes. For a little extra (own designs start at around £50), you can get shoes that nobody else has.

Now who’s going to get some super special shoes this Summer??
