500 Days Of Summer

“This is a story of Boy meets Girl, but you should know upfront: this is not a love story.”
Since the very beginning we’re told what the movie is about, but nonetheless this won’t make us stop watching it. Why? It preciously mixes faith and love with disappointment and furiousness.
A failed romance can mark our lives forever. When we go back in time, we never remember it in chronological order. This is what 500 Days does. Hopping between the good moments and the bad ones, looking for the reasons of the failure in a very original storytelling conceit.
Expectations, who doesn’t have them? Expectations versus reality describes all of our lives and describes this not love story. With Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt being brilliant in the main roles, we are taught that authenticity is everything. Feelings must be spoken loudly. No fear. No shame. Why? Because “It’s Love, not Santa Claus.”
500 Days of Summer has a fantastic soundtrack and was considered, for many world movie reviewers, to be one of the best ten movies of 2009. It’s magic and beauty don’t let anyone be indifferent to it.
